"L is for the way you look at me
O is for the only one I see
V is very very extraordinary
E is even more than anyone that you adore
Cuz love is all that I can give to you, love is more than just a game for two
Two in love can make it, take my heart and please don't break it, love was made for me and you!"
I had 2 open this post with the lyrics of Nat King Coles famous song "L.O.V.E" because I recently watched The Parent Trap for like the gazillionth time this past week..... (Yes, I love it that much. Don't judge me.). And like every other romantic movie out there, (refer to previous blog post) it teaches us that love can conquer all... Or at least it should be able to.
I'm a sucker for love, break my heart a thousand times (touch wood) and I'm sure I will still believe in "the one".. But even so, love confuses me, its not so black and white like many movies, books and songs make it appear to be. I had a status on facebook the other day about what would mean more: if someone says "I love you" or if they say "love you" and someone said to me, either way love is a term that's now loosely used.
So what is love? This is one of the most difficult questions asked, right there with questions about quantum physics and the stock exchange. No one can give a proper definition, to some love is friendship that's been set on fire, to others love is like luck that you may just stumble upon, to a few love is the feeling you hope someone gets when you feed them a mixture of perfume, water and tea leaves. Either way, we all have our different definitions, and when I asked my 5 year old sister what hers is, she looked at me innocently and said "its when you get together with someone and kiss"
Its funny how most of us are confused about love yet it seems so easy to children. It did not take a lot of thought from my little sister before she said that, she just said it. So I thought it would be fun to see what other children thought about love, and then maybe, just maybe I would FINALLY know what I'm dealing with.
