Blogger Challenge: Day 5

Day 5: A Song To Match Your Mood

I am honestly feeling a bit too many things right now.
Nothing all too bad, but I have just had a hectic couple of days. I have recently moved to a new city, started apartment hunting, enrolling in a new school, planning to furnish my apartment, and a whole lot more concerning the new move.

Moving to a new place is never easy I suppose, I havent really had practice in this art because I always seem to stay in one place most of the time. But even though I know it will be a while till I fully settle down, the thought of the whole thing overwhelms me.

And I guess if I had to sum up all I am feeling right this moment would be just that, overwhelmed.

*sigh* All I know is the best advice I can give myself right now, is to relax right?

I probably should go right ahead and take Mikas advice. He said it best.

Blogger Chanllenge: Day 4

Day 4: Your Parents

There is a lot I would like to say about my parents, but I think most of it needs to be said to them. First of all, maybe I should start by saying thank you....

Dear Mum and Dad

I have known you guys for 23 years now, and I can safely say that you guys are by far the best parents a girl like me can ask for.
If God had to come today and say 'Hey, because I love you so much, I am giving you the chance to change anything you want about your parents. What will it be?' I would smile and reply, 'No thanks God, you did well the first time around, and because you love me so much you gave me the parents that I needed.'

I know that we argue, and fight and disagree on so many things, but at the end of the day I know you love me.
I would like to thank you for all this and more, I am who I am today because of what you have done for me, and who you have been for me.

I may not say much at times, but just know that I love you more than life itself. And I owe you guys my life..... Literallly.

Love,
Your Daughter

Usually I would insert pic here, but my parents don't seem to have the time {most of the time} to stop and take pictures. But......

That's what matters.

Blogger Challenge: Day 3

*side bar* I missed my 3rd post. :( I know. I unfortunately could not log in to blogger yesterday for some unknown reason. I tried all day, but it kept brining up some error. But I am up and running again now, and I bring you my challenge for day 3.
Day 3: Your First Love

This is definitely a tie between Leonardo Di Caprio and Macaulay Culkin.
Yum.

These two boys kind of did it for me when I was younger.
Macaulay was so bad ass in the Home Alone movies, who wouldn't die? And Leonardo and that beach body of his? Wow.

As I have grown up however, these two have started losing their sex appeal to me. One is fat and the other looks like a druggie. No, thanks.

I am good with the real deal.

Blogger Challenge Day 2

Day 2: Meaning Behing Your Blog Name

It actually took me forever to come up with a name, and sometimes I feel I still haven't got it quite right. I don't know, maybe it's the indecisive nature in me that just won't stick with one thing. But I have had this name for almost two years now so I am sure it's doing something right.

Let me start from the beginning. Lu3Lu is my name, well, without the 3 in it. In actual fact it is just Lulu.
But quite a while ago, I watched the movie 'Bandslam' and that movie changed my life, literally. Ever since then I thought that having a number in your name made you quite different, and dare I say 'cool' and you know how everyone wants to be the captain of the cool kids, So like Sa5m the five is silent I decided to become Lu3Lu the three is silent and I have been Lu3Lu ever since.

One thing I didn't want to do, is make this blog my diary. I didn't want to come on here and dear diary the h*ll out of this thing because one, that would surely be boring, and two there is so much to me, and this world than the things that we complain about everyday. So, obviously that scratched out naming my blog Lu3Lus Thoughts, or Lu3Lu Thinks (which were really strong contenders.... at the time) but I realised there are so many things that cross my mind, and so many people and things that cross my path that if I was to put it all down on virtual paper I could really have something good going. I started to think of a zebra crossing, and I thought hey, why not just change zebra to Lu3Lu and make it Lu3Lu's Crossing.
I had to be vain and kind of stick my name in there somewhere because I wanted this blog to symbolise me, and my views, and my thoughts.

{here}

So I guess at the end of the day, it came together pretty well...

I Think.

Blogger Chllenge: Day 1

Day 1: Introduce, recent picture of yourself, 15 interesting facts

In my head I always imagine myself as one of those people who always walk around with a camera taking pictures of everything and everyone, or maybe even one of those girls that always takes pictures of themselves (a little) but in reality I hardly take pictures unless I am with people that are like the above. But this is as recent as it gets....

Cheers!

I am also not very good at talking about myself. When people ask, 'tell me about yourself' I am usually stuck for words. That, or I simply say... 'well ask me what you want to know' it is so much easier that way. Obviously I would have to pull something out of a hat if I was asked this at a job interview, I can't really say 'ask me what you want to know' even though they will go ahead and do just that anyway.
Oh, I guess I also digress alot. Here I am supposed to be telling you about myself, and I am chatting job interviews.. go figures. Any way, if I HAD to say something about myself it would be in the words of that guy who sang the one tree hill theme song 'I don't wanna be anything other than what i've been trying to be lately, all I have to do is think of me and I have peace of mind'

The good thing is I can make lists, lots and lots of them. So here are 15 interesting (I hope) facts about me.

1. I like to think I speak with an accent. So when somebody tells me I sound just like everybody else, it kind of sucks.

2. I used to think I would be the next Penny Heynes. I was in love with the water and being inside it, I competed when I was A LOT younger but then I got embarrassed about being in a costume around all these high school boys. You see what happens when you do things for guys?

3. When I grow up, I want to be famous, I want to be a star, I want to be in movies. When I grow up, I want to see the world, drive nice cars, I want to have groupies. Be on TV, people know me, be on magazines. (only because I am listening to the song right now)

4. I don't laugh. I feel like I do, but according to everyone around me, I don't. I am either always saying, 'That's so funny' or 'That's hilarious' but I never actually just laugh.

5. I am bad at math. This is not interesting, this is just shameful. Today I spent almost an hour trying to count money that wasn't even a lot.

6. I am capable of stealing your baby, or puppy.

7. I am afraid of heights. This is also not interesting, it is a serious problem I need to work on. Any ideas?

8. I want to interview Alexa Prisco from Jeresylicious, or should I say, Glam Fairy. Why you ask? Well, why not?

9. I have a list of names to call my children when they finally arrive into this world. Praying for a boy first.

10. I honestly believed supercalafragelistcexpealidoscious was a real word. Shock horror when I open the dictionary and it wasn't there. Cried for months.

11. At least I know Santa Clause is real.

12. I want a tiger to walk down the ailse with me on my wedding day. Preferably a white tiger, but I am not picky.

13. I never finish a tube of lip gloss. It withour fail manages to get lost, or stolen. I believe it is the latter.

14. My favourite movie to this day will always be The Parent Trap.

15. I had an incredible amount of fun with todays blogger challenge. I still hope many of you will join. :)

All We Need...

The past two days have really been up and down for me.

I've been stressed out, I have been nervous, I have been happy, I have been upset, I have been encouraged and discouraged, I have been confused, I have been hurt, I have been calm and all this just in 48 hours.

Needless to say, this is life.

We all have our ways of dealing with it, but one thing is for sure we all need a little inspiration.

One of my friends sent this to me in an email yesterday and I have been thinking about it ever since. Not only did it inspire me, but
It is so true how human beings focus so much on the things that make them sad, but don't spend enough time thinking about the things that make them happy. If we can't laugh at the same joke twice, we definitely shouldn't cry about the same things over and over again

All these moments are fleeting, let's choose wisely which ones we hold on to, and which ones we let go of.
If a plane doesn't allow excess baggage why would you allow it in your life?
And remember excess baggage comes at a cost.

Right?

Sometimes And Always

Ola!

Upon doing my usual rounds on the internet I came across this lovely link up Sometimes And Always created by Megan over at Mackey Madness

This is my first time, So I might be a little rusty, but here goes :)

SOMETIMES I tell myself that I am going to start waking up earlier than I usually do
ALWAYS I end up staying in bed for a few extra hours. Wait hours? Did I say hours, I meant minutes.

SOMETIMES I try to eat fish
ALWAYS I regret it. Although I have to hand it to some people. They do it better than others.

SOMETIMES I try to eat healthy
ALWAYS I find cake in my mouth. (who puts it there?)

SOMETIMES I want to try out different fashion statements
ALWAYS I end up playing safe, and sticking to the stuff I know.

SOMETIMES I promise myself I am going to learn a new language
ALWAYS it doesn't work out quite as planned.

SOMETIMES I don't like the Mr
ALWAYS I love him

SOMETIMES I make mistakes, huge ones.
ALWAYS I choose to learn from them

SOMETIMES I get really frustrated and angry by a TV series (recently desperate housewives)
ALWAYS I end up staying hooked anyway.

SOMETIMES I feel  like I have no real friends in this world
ALWAYS someone reminds me that I do and always will.

Join Megan for more sometimes and always fun AND you can also leave a comment below to share some of your sometimes and always(es)

Eleven in 2011

Feels so weird to still be talking about 2011, but as I have spent sometime catching up with a few of your blogs, I have seen a lot of us have put into words the things that made us happy in 2011. Which is awesome because it's always good to remember why you smile.
I decided to do the same because even though I may have left a few things behind, there will always be memories I carry forward. And it is kind of a nice way to end one chapter and begin another.

Eleven Things That Made My 2011

1. Finding Unexpected Bonds With People and Forming Close Friendships.
This specific thing is hard for me sometimes, mainly because I don't always throw myself out there for people to get to know me. And even though, I love meeting new people and making friends, it rarely happens. So I am thankful to those who took the time to get to know me, who I now call friends. (",)
2. Freedom
Being away at University kind of gives you that  freedom that we all seem to always want. But in 2011 I experienced a new kind of freedom, not one that I was forced into, but one that I chose. I was able to make my own decisions and do what I wanted when I wanted. I dealt with having to look for my own job, look for an apartment to stay, paying rent, etc and that is what being out of university did for me. Some lessons were hard but it was worth it.

3. Not Being Afraid
I am afraid of so many things. I had a friend in high school that called me 'chicken' and I still have people that tell me how much I worry about everything. And even though I still have these traits, last year I started to come out of it a little. Especially concerning where I see myself in the future. It's normal to be afraid of such things I suppose but when I decided I was going to plan my own birthday party and kick the s**t out of it, I really took one giant step for mankind. I kid you not. This seems pretty ridiculous doesn't it. 'Oh my gosh, she planned her birthday party, that was hard O_o' but event planning is my thing, and I haven't planned anything my entire life (except of course for in my head) but seeing my vision of something come to life really made me happy and I guess not afraid to do more of it.

4. Baking
Even though I haven't done a lot of it lately, baking definitely makes my list. I found something that I can spend hours doing in the kitchen and not get sick of it. The only downside are the calories I could gain from all the baking but, oh my, how can one refuse cake?

5. Aerobics Class
It didn't actually last long. A month, tops. But I have never felt so rejuvenated in my life before.Granted I could not walk for a couple of days, but it made me realize that I am definitely down for some bodily workout that is NOT the gym. So sign me up for dance class, synchronized swimming, anything.

6. Getting A New Pair of Heels For Christmas
I am totally obsessed with Heels! It's funny because the pair I got for Christmas are actually the first attempt at me making my shoe collection bigger. All I do is admire heels, I never buy them or get others to the buy them for me, I just always say how much I need them. But thank God for my sister who heard me and started me off. Hopefully by the end of this year I will have something to show for my obsession.

7. Family
Always.
This Christmas I introduced the Mr to my family. As nervous as we both were things worked out perfectly. We spent time with family I haven't seen in ages and needed to see and it was so awesome how things just came together. All those lunches and gatherings (that made me fat) were all worth it. But now they need to pay for my gym bill is all.

8. Applying and Getting Accepted for An Honors Degree
After my undergrad I really had no intention of furthering my education, at least for a while. As unambitious as that sounds I just felt like I was done with school at that time. I was eager to get out there and work, and 'start my life' but after much persuasion I applied anyway, and got in! Getting in was honestly the best feeling ever. And now I welcome the idea of more school so openly! In fact I am excited!

9. Twilight: Breaking Dawn
Did you see that!!!!

10.  FaraiToday
This blog really gave me endless opportunities. The woman behind the blog is also so amazing! I am just happy I met them (her and her blog) who I now work for. (",)

Lastly and most importantly

11. Having God By My Side
Need I say more. ALL things have been possible for me because of it.

Happy New Year (and all that other stuff)

I feel so guilty that I haven't been on here since the 12th of December. It even confuses me because all I ever think about it 'my next post'... I could say that I was busy, forgot my password, had no internet connection, or something so not the truth but in all honesty, I seem to have let go.
Not of my passion for blogging, no, never.
But let go of finding the time and motivation to do it.
I blog all day in my mind, there is never a day that I am short of something to say in my little corner of the world wide web. And I am so grateful for those of you who have stuck around even when I had abandoned ship. I actually lost a couple of followers along the way (tear drop) but for me, this space is really about just being. I don't come on here to see how many more people have joined my site, even tough it is an added bonus, but I come on here to write, to talk, and to just be.
I love my space, and this year, there will be lot's of changes around here. Firstly, changes in the many times I make a post.

So let me officially start these changes by wishing everyone a Happy New Year.

I know it's already the 8th but we have a long way to go till the end of the year and I hope that everyone who has made resolutions and set new goals and targets reach all of them and more this year.

I personally have no new resolutions this year, I didn't even give them a thought. Mainly because I suck at keeping my resolutions, but also because this year I decided to just live.
A lot of changes had been made in my life throughout 2011, and all these changes made me realize that it is never too late to make changes, a lot of us wait for the right time, or the new year to make changes and even though it makes sense why you would want to leave something behind and start afresh in the new year, I've decided not to wait anymore.
I've decided that life is too short to wait for perfect moments, and even though I will still plan things out, and do things at the right time, as far as changes go, it's never too late to make them now.

But to each is own right?

Happy 2012 friends. Hope to see and meet more of you here on Lu3lus Crossing and over on your side of the World Wide Web.
