They Tried To Make Her Go To Rehab

It is just so sad to see and read about Amy Winehouse's passing. Death is really something we can never get used to. I had planned a post about something else, but when I heard about Amy Winehouse I guess all that went out the window.
I'm speechless to say the least.
I can't say I was a huge fan of her music or anything, but Amy was cool people. Most importantly she was a human being. I see a lot of people on twitter and facebook saying how all this is her fault and drug addicts deserve what comes their way, and what else did she expect?
I don't know, it's all just so sad. I don't think anyone deserves anything bad happening to them, especially something as terrible as death.
It's one thing to criticize drug addicts but it's another to think that their death is less important because of their drug use.
The way I see it, death is death. Whether you were hit by a car or you overdosed on pain killers, death is sad and should not be celebrated.
Rather celebrate the life someone lived.

Someone tweeted:

Another human being losing her life is sad. Amy was not a murderer or a rapist to deserve such nasty tweets from you perfect individuals!

How true.

As I said, I was not a huge fan, but here is to celebrating Amy Winehouse's life.

"I think we have to be aware that people are allowed to make mistakes" - Amy Winehouse

'I believe in casual sex. I know it's sad that I think cheating on people is fine. But I think it's like smoking a spliff. Oops, I've gobbed on myself!' - Amy Winehouse

'There's no point in saying anything but the truth. Because, at the end of the day, I don't have to answer to you, or my ex, or ... I shouldn't say God ... or a man in a suit from the record company. I have to answer to myself.' - Amy Winehouse

"You get straight men that are fu**ing big pussies like my ex-boyfriend, and gay men who are like, "Can I carry that for you? Take my jacket." And you wish they didn't like boys" - Amy Winehouse

'It's just my music. It's the only thing I have real dignity in in my life. That's the one area in my life where I can hold my head up and say, "No one can touch me." 'Cos no one can touch me!' - Amy Winehouse

“I don’t need help because if I can’t help myself I can’t be helped.” - Amy Winehouse

“It’s too much of a drinking culture, everything tastes better with a drink. Like, watch TV: glass of wine. Cooking dinner: glass of champagne. White wine vinegar hasn’t got white wine in it. Has it?” - Amy Winehouse

While we were sleeping...

It's taken me this long to write a post about all the happenings in Japan, but I just could not find the right words to say. It's one thing to talk and write about how bad and terrible something is, but it's something else for the people who actually had to go through those bad and terrible things.

My heart definitely goes out to them

I heard somewhere that Life goes on, with or without you.
I have to say, this is the most real thing I have heard in a long time. I don't know if it's because I lack inspiration around me, or maybe because I don't hear a lot of 'real' things, but when I heard this it really took me a step back and made me think 'woah'
Granted it was said in the sense of, you have to make the most of your life, accept change, live and let live, and if you choose not to then that's YOUR problem because life is going to go on with or without you and it's your choice whether you want to stand on the sidelines and watch it pass you by or, get in the game and play!

But as I stew this around in my mind a little, I realise it means more than just live your life. I don't know if it's just me but, read this quote, I took this from the movie Perfect Getaway (weird weird movie)

"... If I just turn my head... ya know. For just a minute and... but don't tell me, but does everything just stop? Just shut down... go in to some energy saving hibernation mode, till I choose to reactivate them by simply turning my head back?"

This is how I feel when I go to sleep.

I just feel like everything goes to sleep with me, I'm so unaware of everything else that's going on around me (obviously) that it really feels like nothing IS going on around me and everything resumes again when I wake up. Call me crazy.

And then to wake up hearing from facebook and twitter that an earthquake AND tsunami, (not to mention the nuclear situation) hit Japan, I'm like wait what? when did this happen?? Well............... While you were sleeping.

This really put that line "life goes on with or without you" into perspective for me, because while I was busy dreaming of getting fat (see previous post) thousands of people were dying.
Just makes me sad you know? Not that being awake a thousand miles away would have helped anything either, but kinda just sucks!

They are going through a hard time over there (again, not like I actually know what the 'hard time over there' is) but I can definitely pray for them, we should all pray for them.

Let's not forget the things that happen while we were sleeping.

If you dont stand for something you will fall for anything

What's funny is that some of us have words or sayings that we live by every day, and even then we don't really understand the true meaning of them.

When people want to give up we tell them "can't never did anything but sit on the fence and watch can go by", when people are angry and hurt we tell them "if you cant say anything nice don't say anything at all" or my personal favorite when people are undecided about things we often say "if you don't stand for something you will fall for anything." How unfair...... because we are the exact same people that also give up, and say hurtful things to others out of anger and find it hard to make decisions. As true as they are when they are coming out of our mouths, is as true as they should be putting them into actions.

I've got to admit, I've got one of those "what happens, happens" attitudes, I find it hard to make decisions and I'm generally a "yeah that's cool" kinda girl. In my defense: it actually will be cool, it's not my fault I find everything cool. I would like to think that out of the 6,790,062,2(1)<--- (that's me)6 people in the world I am not the only one with this difficulty. Which is why I like the saying "if you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything", not because I fall for everything, and not because I am undecided, but because it makes me realize that I'm not going believe in anything if I don't know anything.

The more someone says this to me, or tweets it, or updates it as their facebook status, the more meaning it has to me, and becomes clearer in its message. It's not just about joining your friend in a war between her and her roommate, or being able to decide what you want for Christmas, or saying "I support same sex marriages". It's more than that, It's about having the integrity and strength to stand up for what you believe in and stick by them. That's why I admire groups like the feminists, no random on the street can walk up to them and say "lovely dress, oh by the way men are God's gift to earth". That might be the longest conversation of that person's life because that feminist will stand there and tell them why that's not true until they are blue in the face.

I'm not saying become a feminist, or join the catholic church, or marry Robert Mugabe, but what I am saying is if you think Toy story 3 is the best animated film of 2010 then don't stand there and let somebody else convince you that Shrek Forever After was way better. If you see no color in people, don't stand there and let someone tell you about "black" and "white".

At the end of the day do what Bhudda says "Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations." RATHER believe in yourself and when something agrees with you accept it and live up to it.

KLS

When i hear "KLS" I immediately think of the fabulous Kimora Lee Simmons, and in my opinion who doesn't. If its not for her sparkling personality, jaw dropping fashion label and absotively posolutely adorable children then its definitely for her hard work.
And even though I'm moving slightly off track (only slightly) I actually want to take a minute to talk about this phenomenal woman.
I'm a twitter addict, I'm on there 24/7 365 like its running out of fashion, but what can I say I love it.(at the risk of sounding like a stalker) the one thing I really like about it is that you can keep up to date with your favorite celebrities, like KIMORA LEE SIMMONS! And okay i get it, there is one thing about following celebrities just to stalk their lives but its another thing actually interacting with them, and those of you who follow Mrs Simmons know that she is number one at interacting with her fans and its just absolutely amazing when that happens (not that it has happened to me *sigh*) BUT I know a luck lady (RuTendoDenise) that got tweeted by her and in two words: heart attack. I will never forget what she said "ZIMBAWEEE! STAND UP!". Now I'm from Zimbabwe so you must know how exciting it must have been for me to read that. I was literally "tweetless..."
So before I ramble on, I just thought I had to share this because like I said it is one of the many joys of twitter having someone you love and adore take the time to tweet you back. So i say KIMORA LEE SIMMONS! STAND UP!

So lets cross over, back to KLS..!

Today this does not mean Kimora Lee Simmons but rather "Keep Life Simple"
Life as we know it can be a rather complicated process, and over the past few days I have allowed this "complication" to get the best of me.... I mean check it, if we look at the word "life" we can see that its full of ifs and lies (and let me remind you "ifs" never travel alone, be sure to look out for its cousins buts and maybes) but if you put it altogether that's life. pretty much nothing you can do about it.... except....... KLS, keep it simple.
I actually told myself its impossible to fight fire with fire, and in that regard its impossible to fight complication with complication. So many people say if life throws u lemons make lemonade, or drink tequilla and I say YES to that, but one of my favorites and ones that I aim to live by is if life throws you lemons make grape juice and leave people wondering how you did that.
I definitely know how I can make grape juice out of lemons....my family, my friends, and myself. Nothing is better than having an amazing support group behind you and YOU giving them reason to be amazing.
