Durban's Zulu white boy Joins Gagasi FM

News for my fellow South Africans.

Rumour has it...  The talented Wade joined one of KZN's biggest radio stations Gagasi 99.5. Huge claps and round of applause!!!

I've only ever heard of him in passing, but most of you avid followers of South African local entertainment would have seen Wade, who is also well known as "Skhokho" or "The Zulu White boy", on local TV station SABC1's comedy series Abomzala. This professional performer, presenter and socialite is not new to the radio airwaves though, he has once worked on former Durban radio station DYR (Durban Youth Radio) with the likes of ECR's Zabalazile Simbine, Ukhozi Fm's Sthandwa Nzuza and Brand Architect Boni Xaba. Wade was also one of the LIVE presenter search Top 4 finalists competing with the likes of Luthando "Loot love" Sosha and Nomuzi "Nomoozlie" Mabena

And according to him, he is very excited to be back on radio, and of course would like to thank the man above his friends and Gagasi FM for believing in him. Congratulations Wade!

You can catch Wade producing the Afternoon Show Off Monday to Friday between 3-6pm on Gagasi 99.5. If you're around KZN or simply stream LIVE via www.gagasiradio.fm. I'm definitely looking forward to it!

Obsessed With ChianoSky

Hi Guys,

This weeks guest blogger is a social media friend of mine Zane 'Lelo' Meslani. Born in Johannesburg and now living in Durban, Zane is a student, blogger, fashion writer, publicist and entertainment analyst and I am thrilled to have him here today to share with us. Check his blog out here

Obsessed with ChianoSky

The best thing since flavoured bubble gum.

Words that come to mind when hearing the name "ChianoSky"? Sexy, Bubbly, Soulful!

The musical sensation that is ChianoSky has become a staple brand name in the South African music industry. When I first heard her single on radio "Sick Sick", I thought it was some new American one-hit-wonder artist. My assumptions were purely wrong!

Anybody that says age is a definition of success obviously hasn't heard this 19 year old's music. Blending music elements of Blues, Smokey Jazz (I seriously didn't make that up), good old fashioned Swing and Pop to create a powerful album titled 'Hungry'. This album has hit singles such as Home Sweet Home, Sick Sick and Walking Away which in my opinion were catchy enough to make her rise right up the pop charts and claim her place on the 5FM Top 40!

ChianoSky draws her influence from classic artist such as Etta James, Marvin Gaye as well as modern songstresses Adele and the late Amy Winehouse.

Bagging a EMI recording deal, hundreds and thousands of fans, multiple SAMA nomination (Including Record Of The Year) in just under TWO years??! ChianoSky is living proof that having a dream and working hard towards it will push you beyond the limitations of everyone's expectations.

P.S : Her latest single 'Uncrumple My Heart' is such a GREAT, catchy record! My advice is, give her a listen. You won't regret it!

The Newest Kid on the Block Ash Muzik

Ashley Beyers, popularly known as, Ash, or A.S.H. recently dropped on my radar. This Durban born professional dancer has been in and around the music scene for a while, participating and appearing in many dance shows and competitions, also taking the stage with South African award winning hip hop and R&B groups Jozi, HHP, and Jamali, and taking part in the hit television series 'So You Think You Can Dance South Africa' in 2010.
Yeah, okay..... so maybe he isn't the newest kid on the block, and I am just about two years too late to the party, but whats new to many of us is this super talented moves maker is broadening his career to include singing. Yup, not only is he taking the stage but he is taking the microphone too.

Rumour has it A.S.H. has been singing underground for awhile now, only sharing his talent with a select few. I recently heard his latest single 'No 1 Does it Better' off his EP 'Ash Has Landed' that he plans to release in January of 2013, and let me just say [for lack of a better phrase] Ash sure has landed. I love the sound of 'No 1 Does it Better' kind of has an old school yet modern vibe to it. His sound actually reminds me of the Dream, you know, Terius Nash the voice behind Falsetto and Rockin' That Thang, yeah, that kind of electronic pop R&B sound. So basically those of you who love the Dream and his music are in for a treat with A.S.H, granted I haven't heard any other song from him yet, but if this new single is anything to go by then yes.

Take a listen to No1 Does it Better here and judge for yourself

All he needs to do now to make him a triple threat is act. Generations anyone?

For more on A.S.H, follow him on Twitter @Ash_Muzik, or  @_TeamAsh and @SwaggedIncPR for any PR related queries.

"Want to make the world dance"

Music is one of those cure the soul kind of things to me. It does a good job at almost making me feel better, almost, because food and sleep do the other half.

But music, oh my, music really does it for me. When I study, when I sleep, when I'm happy or sad, music is my friend. It's kind of like reading a book, you manage to block out all that's around you and just be.

What I am feeling at the moment:

1. On The Floor ft Pitbull

2. I'm Into You ft Lil Wayne

1. Do It Like A Dude

2. Price Tag ft B.o.B

1. Beautiful Mistake

2. Fearless
3. Lose control ft Nelly

1. Roll Up

2. No Sleep

1. Super Bass
2. Dear Old Nicki
3. Moment For Life
4. Wave Ya Hand

I can't explain how happy I get when I listen to any of these songs.

Music is.......................

Bliss.

In music I trust

Today= sucky sucky day, you want to know more about it, you can find it in the shelves next to 'oh my what a day' and 'why did I bother waking up?'

I honestly feel like I have been living this day for more than 30 hours! It's kind of funny how time FLIES when you are having fun, but when you are bored, depressed, or annoyed, time does nothing but stay still.
Lesson learned, time is not thy friend.

Any way, crossing over, there are three things that I tend to do when I am sad, 1) EAT 2) SLEEP and 3) listen to MUSIC. I am currently doing number 1.. Wimpy sweet chili chicken wrap with hot chocolate on the side, but this was after I tried number 2 and it failed, and I have been doing number 3 all day.

There is nothing that can turn everything upside down or the right way up like music can. I could play Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On' and just burst into tears or I could play Ronan Keating's "When You Say Nothing At All" and smile to myself because once upon a time that song meant something to me, or even better I could play Jr's "Show Dem" and want to put my dancing shoes on and make the circle bigger.

Whatever the case, music acts as my friend, when I am depressed it's there to give me sympathy, when I am happy it's there to inspire me, when I am lonely it's there to comfort me and when I have nothing to say it's there to fill in the blanks and put my feelings and emotions into words that I would have probably not have been able to say.

What can I say, for me music gives me the feeling of "Hakuna Matata", *singing* it means no worrieeeeeees for the rest of your dayyyyyys, (yeah say it kid) its a problem freeeeeeeeeee philosophyyyyyyyyyy hakuna matata!

As far as my bad day is concerned I can't wait to wake up tomorrow and ask "what bad day?" but until then in music I trust.
